Officials warn of cyber-attacks amid Russia-Ukraine war

New York State (WRGB) — Cyber security is on the mind of U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand and other officials amid the Russian-Ukraine war.

“There’s an increased risk that Russia will carry out retaliatory cyber attacks, particularly against New York State infrastructure and individuals. We must act quickly to strengthen our cyber defenses to counter any unwarranted and unprovoked Russian aggression here,” said Gillibrand on Monday.

“Attempted cybersecurity incident” targeted Sanford Health: CEO

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – Sanford Health says it was targeted in a cybersecurity incident Wednesday.

Sanford Health President and CEO Bill Gassen tells Dakota News Now that the health system experienced an “attempted cybersecurity incident” and that it’s taking measures to contain the impact.

Gassen says that at this time no known patient, resident, or employee personal or financial information was compromised.

Sanford has notified federal authorities.
